DiversityInc names Kaiser Permanente to its Top 50 Hall of Fame for the sixth year in a row.
For the sixth year in a row, Kaiser Permanente was named to the DiversityInc Top 50 Hall of Fame.
This award recognizes that diversity and inclusion remain at the core of our mission. They are our greatest strengths. We celebrate all backgrounds, identities, and abilities while we serve diverse communities.
Embracing each person’s unique perspective and experience allows us to innovate to solve complex problems and achieve our mission. And creating an inclusive workplace where we all feel we belong helps us to deliver equitable care and outcomes for our patients, members, and communities.
Our focus on diversity and inclusion shows up in every area of our work. This focus guides how we hire, retain, and promote women, people of color, veterans, people with disabilities, and people in the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2022, nearly 69% of our total workforce were members of racial, ethnic, and cultural minorities, and 74% were women.
We have also increased our efforts to build a highly inclusive, engaged, and equitable workplace with our equity principles and Belong@KP training.
Our equity principles guide our practices and behaviors, influence how we treat one another, and reflect our mission.
Belong@KP is our anti-bias and anti-racism program. The training helps us recognize bias in our actions. It also provides a broader understanding of systemic racism, and ways to think and act more inclusively. Belong@KP also supports an unbiased and equitable approach to the recruitment, hiring, development, advancement, and retention of our people.
Since 2012, companies have been eligible for the DiversityInc Hall of Fame after earning a number one spot on DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity list. We earned the number one spot in 2011 and 2016.
