Honored for supporting people with disabilities

Leading U.S. disability organizations recognize Kaiser Permanente for supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.

We are committed to diverse hiring practices and to supporting an inclusive environment in which all people can reach their full potential and thrive.

Every day, our diverse workforce helps us achieve our mission. That’s why we’re honored to be recognized for creating a workplace that supports and empowers people with disabilities.

For the seventh year in a row, Kaiser Permanente earned a top-ranking score of 100% on the 2023 Disability Equality Index. We were also included in the list of 2023 Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.

The American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN created the Disability Equality Index and the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion list to advance the inclusion and equality of people with disabilities. The index benchmarks companies based on culture, leadership, accessibility, employment practices, community engagement, and supplier diversity.

Creating an inclusive and accessible workplace

One of the many ways we create an inclusive work environment is through our 10 business resource groups, including Capability@KP.

Capability@KP provides leadership and advocacy in:

  • Creating an inclusive and accessible workplace
  • Honoring the right to self-determination and independence among people with disabilities in the communities we serve

Our commitment to making Kaiser Permanente a place where every person feels valued and respected is outlined in our equity principles, which serve as guidelines for how we treat one another. And our antibias and anti-racism program, Belong@KP, provides tools to help our employees recognize bias, develop a broader understanding of systemic racism, and learn ways to think and act more inclusively.
