The National Committee for Quality Assurance’s 2025 health plan ratings recognize our health plans for excellence in overall treatment and prevention.
Investing in primary care and prevention are the cornerstones of our integrated health care and coverage model.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance, one of the top health care accrediting bodies, gave Kaiser Permanente of Colorado’s commercial and Medicare health plans some of the highest ratings in Colorado.
Kaiser Permanente’s commercial plans in Colorado received a 4.5-star NCQA rating in 2025, the highest in the state. And our Medicare plans in Colorado also received a 4.5-star NCQA rating in 2025, which is tied for the highest in the state.
Notably, Kaiser Permanente improved its rating for prevention and population health measures to a 4.5-star NCQA rating for commercial plans and stayed at a 4.5-star NCQA rating for Medicare plans.
The NCQA annual report, released in September 2025, rated nearly 1,000 commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid health plans in the U.S. Our high ratings are remarkable, given that only 6.5% of the nation’s plans rated 4.5 stars or higher. NCQA ratings are one of the primary industry measures of health plan quality.
“Primary care and prevention continue to be major focus areas,” said Mike Ramseier, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado, “because they’re the cornerstones of Kaiser Permanente’s integrated health care and coverage model.”
“If we can keep people from getting sicker, it’s better for our members and the health system overall,” said Ramseier. “Those focus areas will continue to guide our work for the next few years as we open new medical offices and continue to invest in the care experience.”
Kaiser Permanente in Colorado is in the middle of its largest brick-and-mortar investment in 15 years. And we’ve recently expanded hospital relationships to offer members access to high-quality affordable care at more of metro Denver’s leading hospitals.
“These ratings reflect our teams’ hard work to position Kaiser Permanente to reach more Coloradans with our model of care,” said Greg Berman, MD, interim president and executive medical director of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. “We want to thank our physicians and our staff for the time, dedication, and effort they continue to put into giving our patients and members the highest-rated care in Colorado.”
NCQA is a private, nonprofit organization that measures and accredits health care plans. NCQA ratings are based on dozens of measures that assess how each plan performs when it comes to prevention and population health, treatment, and the patient experience.
