A new gold standard in nursing excellence

Woodland Hills Medical Center is our first hospital in Southern California to earn Magnet With Distinction™ status.

Our nurses are committed to the professional practice of nursing and to exceeding expectations in quality of care.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center has awarded Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center the Magnet with Distinction national designation. The Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health care organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice.

Hard work and dedication

To achieve Magnet with Distinction recognition, organizations must undergo a rigorous and comprehensive process that requires widespread participation from leadership and staff. With this designation, Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center joins an elite community of only 40 Magnet with Distinction recognized organizations — fewer than 1% of hospitals throughout the United States.

“This prestigious designation is a testament to the unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care demonstrated by our nursing staff and the entire interdisciplinary team,” said Michell Gaskill-Hames, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Southern California and Hawaii. “It reflects a culture where nurses are empowered, collaboration is prioritized, and the highest standards are not just met but exceeded.”

“Magnet recognition is the gold standard for nursing excellence,” said Greg Rogers, chief nurse executive at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. “We’re grateful for the incredible dedication of our nurses who worked diligently to achieve this well-deserved recognition.”

“Achieving Magnet with Distinction reinforces our commitment to the professional practice of nursing, and to exceeding expectations in quality of care,” said Murtaza Sanwari, senior vice president and area manager of Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills. “We’re extremely proud of this honor earned by our nursing staff at Woodland Hills Medical Center.”
