We honor and celebrate our workforce this Labor Day

Our people are the heart of Kaiser Permanente.

A message to our people from Greg A. Adams, chair and chief executive officer, Kaiser Permanente; Maria Ansari, MD, FACC, co-CEO, The Permanente Federation; Ramin Davidoff, MD, co-CEO, The Permanente Federation; Paul Minardi, MD, executive vice president and chief executive officer, KP Medical Foundation.

It’s always an honor to celebrate who we are as an organization. Labor Day gives us a chance to share our gratitude for the people of Kaiser Permanente. Thank you for all you do to support our members, patients, customers, and communities.

Labor Day was first celebrated in the United States 142 years ago to honor the labor movement and the countless contributions represented workers make to society.

Throughout our 80-year history, Kaiser Permanente has recognized our diverse workforce as the heart of who we are as a team. We continue to celebrate our work with labor unions and what we have achieved together. The past 4 years highlighted what we can achieve together through our shared commitment to our mission and to those we serve.

Like our past, our future is about our people — it’s about all of you and your outstanding skill, commitment, and passion. Our success is a direct result of our mutual support, shared values, and collaboration — with each other, and with our labor unions.

We were founded with a strong connection to labor. Today more than 80% of Kaiser Permanente employees are represented by more than 40 unions across the country. That means we’re one of the largest unionized workforces in the United States.

We’re grateful for your constant dedication to our patients and members, along with the resourcefulness, creativity, and hard work each of you brings each day to help our organization fulfill our mission.

We look forward to continuing our work together to strengthen Kaiser Permanente and build a future where more people can benefit from our high-quality, affordable care and services.

We honor and celebrate you this Labor Day and every day. You are the heart of Kaiser Permanente.
