Moreno Valley and Riverside Medical Centers earn the ANCC Magnet with Distinction recognition, the highest honor in nursing excellence.
Nurses and care team members at our Moreno Valley Medical Center celebrate earning ANCC Magnet with Distinction recognition.
Exceptional nursing care is at the heart of every patient experience. This dedication to excellence has led Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center to earn the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet with Distinction designation, one of the nation’s highest honors in nursing.
The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate superior patient care, nursing excellence, and innovation. Magnet with Distinction is reserved for organizations that exceed the already rigorous Magnet standards, placing them among the top-performing hospitals nationwide. Fewer than 100 hospitals have achieved this distinction.
Nursing leaders and care teams at our Riverside Medical Center celebrate achieving ANCC Magnet with Distinction recognition.
The nursing teams at Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley and Riverside medical centers operate independently. Each team completed the Magnet process separately. Both teams earned recognition based on their individual outcomes, nursing excellence, and commitment to high-quality care. This achievement followed a comprehensive evaluation including written documentation, comparisons to national benchmarks, and multiday on-site reviews conducted by ANCC.
“Magnet with Distinction recognizes organizations that demonstrate the highest standards of nursing excellence, clinical quality, and patient care,” said Michelle Gaskill-Hames, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Southern California and Hawaii Health Plan and Hospitals. “For both Moreno Valley Medical Center and Riverside Medical Center to earn this distinction independently reflects the extraordinary expertise, collaboration, and commitment of our nurses and interdisciplinary care teams. We are proud to celebrate this achievement as our 11th and 12th Magnet-designated hospitals in Southern California, further strengthening our culture of excellence across the region.”
I couldn’t be prouder of our nurses and care teams, who bring compassion, expertise, and commitment to every patient they serve. Sammy Totah, SVP and area manager, Riverside County
“Earning this honor gives our communities confidence in the care they receive every day, and it means so much because it reflects our nurses’ dedication to excellence,” said Sammy Totah, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente in Riverside County. “I couldn’t be prouder of our nurses and care teams, who bring compassion, expertise, and commitment to every patient they serve. This recognition highlights the consistent, high-quality care we strive to deliver — making it easier for our members and communities to receive exceptional care close to home, where and when they need it.”
Magnet organizations are widely recognized for nursing excellence, quality outcomes, innovation, and strong patient experiences. For patients and families, Magnet recognition serves as an important indicator of an organization’s commitment to exceptional care.
With this achievement, the Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley and Riverside medical centers join a select group of hospitals recognized for empowering nurses to lead, innovate, and deliver exceptional care.
The recognition adds to a growing list of honors earned by both medical centers, including national recognition for maternity care and patient outcomes. Together, the 2 hospitals anchor Kaiser Permanente’s Riverside County service area, serving more than half a million members through an integrated network of hospitals, medical offices, and care teams.
