The organization continues to earn high marks from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for providing high-quality, coordinated care and service.
OAKLAND, Calif. — Kaiser Permanente’s Medicare Advantage health plans are highly rated, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services 2026 Star Ratings.
For the second year in a row, all Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage plans were highly rated, earning either 4 or 4.5 stars out of 5 from CMS. In Hawaii, Kaiser Permanente’s plan is the highest rated, and in California and Washington, D.C., its HMO plans are tied for the highest rating.
Each year, CMS rates Medicare health and prescription drug plans using a 1-to-5-star scale.
The ratings help consumers compare the quality of available plans.
“These ratings reflect our dedication to providing high-quality care and service, which is what our Medicare members expect and deserve,” said Andrew Bindman, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer for Kaiser Permanente. “Our value-based approach ensures we consistently provide care that’s both grounded in the latest evidence and tailored to our members’ needs.”
Kaiser Permanente provides care to more than 1.9 million Medicare members in 8 states and the District of Columbia.
“We’re proud of our highly skilled doctors, nurses, and clinicians for providing world-class care,” said Letitia Bridges, MD, executive vice president and chief quality officer for The Permanente Federation. “These ratings highlight our commitment to providing coordinated, timely care that ensures high-quality outcomes for our patients and members.”
CMS evaluates several key areas to determine star ratings:
Medicare’s annual open enrollment period begins on October 15 and runs through December 7, 2025.
