Kaiser Permanente hospitals applauded for high-quality patient care and service.
Consistently excellent marks in infection prevention, patient safety, and distinguished doctors contribute to these hospitals’ top-tier status.
Six Kaiser Permanente medical centers have been recognized as among the best by Newsweek magazine.
The recently published World’s Best Hospitals 2021 report lists Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center in Hawaii as well as Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles, San Diego, San Diego Zion, Santa Clara, and Woodland Hills medical centers in California among the best in the United States. These hospitals made the list for their consistent excellence in patient outcomes and experience, distinguished doctors, expert nursing care, and state-of-the-art technology. This is the third consecutive year that the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara and Woodland Hills medical centers have been listed.
Hospitals were ranked based on recommendations by tens of thousands of medical professionals from around the globe. The ranking also factors in results from patient satisfaction scores and patient surveys in which patients are asked about their experience, including the level of responsiveness of hospital staff and the cleanliness of their hospital room. Key medical performance indicators, such as risk-adjusted mortality, readmission rates, patient safety, and timeliness of care, are also factored in.
Each of the 6 nationally ranked Kaiser Permanente hospitals were also honored as best hospitals for infection prevention as they performed above the national average based on 6 different measures. This recognition is based on 2019 data, provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
