Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced the promotion of Cyndee Uchima to director, Human Resources. In her new role, Uchima will serve as a strategic partner with executives and senior leaders, ensuring HR activities are aligned with the organization’s overall business strategy. Uchima started her career at Kaiser Permanente in 1990 as a personnel clerk and progressed through several HR roles, including supervisor of Benefits and Records, director of HR Service Center and Workforce Planning and manager of Human Resources Operations and Compliance. Most recently, Uchima served as interim director of Human Resources where she guided the development and execution of HR programs, policies, and procedures; provided consultation to internal departments to ensure HR compliance; and oversaw HR investigations based on company policies and negotiated labor practices.
“Cyndee is a proven leader with a strong work ethic, significant experience, and most importantly, a desire to bring people together,” said Greg Christian, Hawaii Market president, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals. “She has played a large role in guiding her teams to meet critical organizational goals over the years and I’m excited to see her succeed in her new position.”
