Our California health plans honored with top ratings

In California, no health plan tops Kaiser Permanente when it comes to providing high-quality care and personalized service.

California’s Office of the Patient Advocate and Covered California recently gave us their highest possible ratings for overall quality of care.

5 out of 5 stars from the Office of the Patient Advocate

The Office of the Patient Advocate recently released its 2023-24 Health Care Quality Report Card for commercial plans.

• Our Northern and Southern California health plans received 5 out of 5 stars for overall quality of medical care. Our plans were the only 2 in the state to earn 5-star ratings in this category.
• For 16 years in a row, at least one of our California plans has received OPA’s highest rating for quality of medical care.
• Our California plans were the only ones in the state to receive 5 stars for behavioral and mental health care. It’s the fifth year in a row our plans have received 5-star ratings in this category.

OPA also gave our California plans its top rating in many other areas, including heart care and maternity care.

OPA’s report card provides consumers with side-by-side comparisons of the 16 largest health plans.

5 out of 5 stars from Covered California

Covered California recently released its 2024 star ratings. Covered California is the state’s health benefit exchange.

• Kaiser Permanente was the only health plan in the state to earn 5 stars for overall quality. We’ve received 5 stars for overall quality for 5 years in a row.
• We also earned 5 stars for “Members’ Care Experience.”
