HONOLULU — For the ninth consecutive year, Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics by Women’s Choice Award®. Presented by WomenCertified, Inc., this evidence-based designation scored Moanalua Medical Center in the top 5% of 4,729 U.S. hospitals offering obstetrics.
The America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics list compiles data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys. The list awards additional points based on the following factors: presence of a level 3 or 4 neonatal intensive care unit; early elective delivery rates between 0% and 1%; and below-average infection and surgical complication scores.
“At Kaiser Permanente, we are focused on providing exceptional health care to our pregnant patients and their families throughout every stage of their journey,” said Alexa Sueda, MD, chief of obstetrics and gynecology for Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii. “We are honored that our Family Birth Center at Moanalua Medical Center has been acknowledged on a national level for obstetrics.”
The Family Birth Center at Moanalua Medical Center provides coordinated labor and delivery care in a safe and comfortable setting, facilitated by a team made up of the patient’s obstetrician-gynecologist, certified nurse-midwife, neonatologist, and other care providers.
