Hawaii welcomes 8 new care providers

HONOLULU – January 28, 2016 – Kaiser Permanente today announced the addition of eight new care providers to facilities on Oahu. They join more than 600 physicians and other health care providers within the state’s largest medical group, the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, which provides comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 245,000-plus members in Hawaii.

Natalie Albanese Natalie Albanese, MD, practices internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente Waipio Medical Office. Dr. Albanese earned her medical degree from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. She completed her residency at New York University Internal Medicine Primary Care Residency Program in New York, New York. Dr. Albanese is board eligible in internal medicine.

Mark Bridenstine Mark Bridenstine, MD, joins Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Medical Office as an endocrinologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Bridenstine previously served as an attending physician and instructor at the University of Colorado Denver Department of Medicine, teaching hospital medicine and endocrinology, metabolism and diabetes. He is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.

Joshua Fouts Joshua Fouts, PhD, BCBA-D, joins the developmental behavioral pediatrics department at Kaiser Permanente Mapunapuna Medical Office. He received his master’s degree in functional analysis from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and his doctorate degree in education, curriculum and instruction from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Fouts completed a postdoctoral training program in maternal child health leadership and education of neurological disorders at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu. He holds a board-certified behavior analyst-doctoral (BCBA-D) certification.

Kea GilbertKea Gilbert, MD, practices adult and pediatric hospital medicine at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. She earned her medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Gilbert is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Academy of Pediatrics and is board eligible in internal medicine and pediatrics.

Kenneth SchwabKenneth Schwab, MD, practices hospital medicine at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Schwab completed his internal medicine residency at the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center in Oakland, California. He is board certified in internal medicine.

Alison TamiyaAlison Tamiya, MD, practices hospital medicine at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York, and completed her residency at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Tamiya is a member of the American College of Physicians and is board certified in internal medicine.

Gregory ThibaultGregory Thibault, MD, PharmD, joins the urology department at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He earned his doctor of medicine degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his surgical residency in urology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Dr. Thibault also completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, he served as director of urologic oncology, chief of urology services, and program director of the urology residency program at Tripler Army Medical Center. Dr. Thibault is board certified in urology and holds a doctor of pharmacy degree from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.

Andrew YunAndrew Yun, DPM, joins the podiatry department at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Dr. Yun served as a podiatric surgery resident at Virtua Health System in Voorhees, New Jersey, and completed a sports medicine fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Palo Alto, California. He is board eligible in podiatry.
