Kaiser Permanente expands health care access in Coweta County

New 36,000-square-foot Fischer Crossings Medical Center is scheduled to open in fall 2026.

ATLANTA — Kaiser Permanente plans to expand access to high-quality health care in Coweta County with the construction of Fischer Crossings Medical Center, a 36,000-square-foot facility scheduled to open in fall 2026. The innovative health care facility will offer a full range of primary and specialty care services, along with advanced imaging, lab work and pharmacy access — all under one roof.

Comprehensive services at the new facility will include:

  • Primary care: Adult medicine and pediatrics
  • Specialty care: Ob-gyn, behavioral health, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, GI, dermatology, medical optometry and ophthalmology
  • Imaging: X-ray, ultrasound, screening mammography and bone density test
  • Pharmacy and lab: Pharmacy and blood draw

“Kaiser Permanente exists to provide high-quality, affordable health care for our members, and this innovative facility will help us further meet that objective,” said Corwin N. Harper, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Georgia. “Fischer Crossings represents our dedication to delivering accessible, quality care when and where our members need it most. We’re proud to invest in this vibrant community and look forward to making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of its residents for generations to come.”

Key facility facts

  • 26 exam rooms and 6 optometry or ophthalmology rooms
  • 16 provider offices
  • 36,000 square feet
  • $36 million construction investment
  • Built on 7 acres purchased in 2018 for $3.6 million

“The Fischer Crossings Medical Center will enable us to provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place,” said Nkem Chukwumerije, MD, president and executive medical director of The Southeast Permanente Medical Group. “Enhanced access to our unique and proven care model will foster a healthier, more vibrant community, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible outcomes.”

Fischer Crossings Medical Center is a collaboration between Kaiser Permanente Georgia, Coweta County officials, Coweta County Board of Commissioners and local stakeholders, reflecting a shared vision to expand health care access and create new economic opportunities.

“We are pleased that Kaiser Permanente is expanding its medical services in our community to better serve our citizens,” said Coweta County board of commissioners chairman Bill McKenzie. “This new 36,000-square-foot facility that will be located in Fischer Crossings further reiterates Coweta County as a growing health care hub in the south metro Atlanta area.”

The medical center will be located on Fischer Crossings Drive in the Fischer Crossings development, currently occupied by several businesses including Costco, NCG Cinema and AutoZone.

The expansion comes as Kaiser Permanente celebrates its 40th anniversary of serving the Atlanta area. Coinciding with the Fischer Crossings Medical Center construction is the renovation of the Kaiser Permanente Cumberland Medical Center in Cobb County.
