Dr. Krawcek is the current president and executive medical director of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group.

OAKLAND, Calif. — Kaiser Permanente has announced the appointment of Jeff Krawcek, MD, as executive vice president and chief executive officer for the KP Medical Foundation.

“Jeff's leadership and vision were instrumental in the creation of the KP Medical Foundation model in 2022, and it is fitting that his inspired leadership will guide the KP Medical Foundation into the future,” said Greg A. Adams, chair and chief executive officer of Kaiser Permanente. “Jeff’s collaborative style and his capacity to lean in on a range of business topics is one of the key reasons our model has been successful in Colorado.”

In this role, Dr. Krawcek will work in close coordination with participating Permanente Medical Groups to support ambulatory care performance across access, quality, service, and total cost of care. This includes overseeing the foundation’s functions in service to Colorado and Washington medical groups. He will also drive collaboration and foster sharing and adoption of best practices across markets and medical groups to advance evidence-based care and medical excellence, including through the value-based platform. Dr. Krawcek will step into his new position on September 10, 2025.

Dr. Krawcek brings 25 years of experience as a pediatrician with extensive physician leadership to his new position. He has served as president and executive medical director of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group since 2021, overseeing more than 1,200 physicians representing all medical specialties and major subspecialties. As president and EMD, he led CPMG’s transition to the KP Medical Foundation model and has partnered closely with Mike Ramseier, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado, in jointly driving new strategies in the market.

Prior to his current position, Dr. Krawcek served as CPMG’s vice president of People and Communications. He joined CPMG in 2008 and held several operational positions including chief of his department at the Southwest and Ken Caryl medical offices, CPMG interim vice president of Primary Care, and CPMG interim vice president of Behavioral Health, where he supported the team in quickly adapting to virtual care during the pandemic. Prior to joining CPMG, he practiced in Madison, Wisconsin, where he held multiple operational leadership roles.
