Olympia Medical Center earns people’s choice, again!

Readers of The Olympian voted their Kaiser Permanente location for 2 awards.

Once again, the readers of The Olympian recognized Kaiser Permanente Olympia Medical Center as one of the best hospitals and best urgent care or walk-in facilities in the region. More than 164,000 votes were cast, a 90% increase over last year, for the 2023 Best of South Sound list. Our Olympia Medical Center was once again the bronze recipient in the “best hospital” category, and again received silver in the “best urgent care or walk-in facility” category.

“When you come to Kaiser Permanente, you can trust that you are receiving the highest quality care from every member of the team. We are so proud of the care we provide at Olympia Medical Center, and for the recognition our members have bestowed on us with these votes,” said Linda Tolbert, MD, executive medical director, Washington Permanente Medical Group.

Olympia Medical Center has demonstrated its welcoming culture since the 1970s. Quite a few long-term Kaiser Permanente members have chosen Olympia Medical Center as their primary care location because of their experience. From employees personally showing patients where to go or escorting them from one health care professional to another — the warmth and care is clear, time and time again.

“We have an incredible team, and I continue to be amazed at the many ways our team thinks of the member when they make decisions,” said Jeff Ernst, certified physician assistant, district medical director for Kaiser Permanente in Washington. “We really put patient care first.”

Best hospital

While Olympia Medical Center isn’t an inpatient hospital, readers of The Olympian still value the many outpatient specialties available. From allergy to eye care, dermatology to sports medicine, and cardiology to cancer care — its varied health care services are all coordinated in one location.

Best urgent care or walk-in facility

Olympia Medical Center’s urgent care is open 24/7, every day of the year. This helps reduce traffic to the emergency room at the nearest hospital — just half a mile down the street.

“It takes a great team to provide the Kaiser Permanente experience of coordinated care and coverage, and that can’t happen without everyone working together to create the excellence our members expect,” said Angela Dowling, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Washington. “We are so proud of the team at Olympia Medical Center and the many ways that they continue to show up for our members and community every day.”
