121 of our physicians named to ‘Top Doctors’ list

5280 magazine’s prestigious list asks doctors in Denver to nominate the best in their field.

DENVER — “I was scared. This was the sickest I’d ever been in my life. I didn’t know what to do but, thankfully, I knew I was in good hands with my doctors at Kaiser Permanente,” said Lorretta Lansing, a Kaiser Permanente member who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.

Lansing was admitted to a local hospital and was enrolled in a clinical research trial for remdesivir, a drug that could potentially help with severe symptoms of COVID-19.

“It was a slow process, but it worked. I absolutely feel like Kaiser Permanente and this drug helped save my life. I’m so grateful to be healthy again.”

Lansing’s story is just one of many examples of the quality care Kaiser Permanente members receive. Whether it’s care related to COVID-19, specialty care, or a regular visit our physicians are consistently recognized for their dedication to delivering the highest quality care available. For instance, 121 Kaiser Permanente physicians from dozens of specialties were recently awarded 5280 magazine’s “Top Doctors” designation.

“We’re proud of the record number of physicians acknowledged as ‘top docs’ this year by 5280 magazine. It’s amazing to see one-third of the doctors on the list are KP physicians. This designation serves as another example of the exceptional care our 1,200 physicians provide our members every single day. I’m thankful for each physician and care team member who are critical to helping our members and our business thrive especially during these extraordinary times,” said Mike Ramseier, regional president for Kaiser Permanente in Colorado.

For 30 years, 5280 magazine has surveyed area doctors and asked them, specialty by specialty, which metro-area physicians they’d trust to treat themselves and their families. A number of Kaiser Permanente physicians in Colorado, representing a wide range of specialties, have appeared on this prestigious “Top Doctors” list over the past few decades. Many have appeared on the list multiple years.

“Our physicians are known for putting patients first and delivering excellent care – these are tenets of how we practice medicine at Kaiser Permanente. This pandemic has further illuminated our unmatched ability to meet members’ needs through a variety of convenient care options, to nimbly adjust our operations with safety as the top priority, and to serve the Colorado community well in the face of adversity,” said Margaret Ferguson, MD, president and executive medical director of Colorado Permanente Medical Group, which serves the 605,000 members of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado.
