New Rock Creek urgent care opens for members

Urgent care center in Lafayette expands access to high-quality, affordable care for North Denver metro area members.

Kaiser Permanente leaders cut the ribbon on the Rock Creek Medical Offices urgent care facility at an event for staff on July 28, 2026.

Kaiser Permanente in Colorado has opened a small urgent care inside its Rock Creek Medical Offices in Lafayette. The new location is Kaiser Permanente's first urgent care in metro North Denver and its fourth urgent care location in the Denver–Boulder region.

The new urgent care center can treat illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening. It gives members another option for receiving care close to where they live and work.

Bringing care closer to home

“This is a game changer for our members in this part of town, especially when they need convenient, same-day care,” said Greg Berman, MD, president and executive medical director of Colorado Permanente Medical Group. “This new urgent care expands access, gives members more choice, and helps us provide high-quality, affordable care close to home.”

The new urgent care location complements Kaiser Permanente's network of contracted urgent care centers and helps members get the right care in the right setting. For conditions that aren’t life-threatening but require prompt medical attention, urgent care can offer convenient access, shorter wait times, and lower out-of-pocket costs than an emergency department visit. When urgent care is appropriate, those factors can be beneficial for members and the health system overall.

The advantages of connected care

“What excites me most about this urgent care is what it means for our members,” said Cortney Eisses, interim regional president for Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. “Members who come here won’t just receive urgent care — they'll receive connected care. Their care team will have access to their medical history and can coordinate with the physicians and specialists they already know and trust.”

Because Rock Creek Urgent Care is integrated within Kaiser Permanente's care system, members can access pharmacy, laboratory, medical imaging, primary care, specialty care, and follow-up services in one location, making care easier to navigate and coordinate.

Part of a larger investment in Colorado

The opening marks another milestone in Kaiser Permanente's broader investment in Colorado. The organization recently opened new medical offices in Parker, Pueblo North, and Lakewood and is planning a new Westminster Medical Offices that will include an urgent care and outpatient surgery center. Together, these projects represent Kaiser Permanente's largest brick-and-mortar investment in Colorado in 15 years.
