NUHW bargaining progresses

Discussions at the bargaining table focused on the job duties and workload distribution proposal presented by the National Union of Healthcare Workers.

Kaiser Permanente and the National Union of Healthcare Workers met on August 14 to continue negotiating a new agreement for our Northern California mental health and addiction medicine professionals.

Our bargaining team engaged in discussions on the details of a proposal NUHW presented during the August 12 session about job duties and workload distribution. The goal is to ensure the contract language about the scheduling of appointments and other work responsibilities reflects our commitment to our mental health professionals and to timely access to the excellent mental health care our teams provide.

The union also presented several counterproposals and a proposal regarding student loan repayment, and we agreed on an additional bargaining date for Tuesday, September 30.

We remain deeply committed to reaching an agreement that benefits our members and staff and ensures continued access to timely, excellent, integrated care.

The next bargaining session is on Tuesday, August 26. We will provide you with another update after that session.
