Kaiser Permanente and the National Union of Healthcare Workers reached their first tentative agreement.
Kaiser Permanente and the National Union of Healthcare Workers met for the third time on July 24 at NUHW’s headquarters in Emeryville, California, to continue negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement for our Northern California mental health and addiction medicine clinicians.
We are pleased that we reached a tentative agreement regarding bereavement leave, which extends the number of maximum paid time-off days from 3 to 5 in alignment with Kaiser Permanente’s current policy.
During the session, both bargaining teams engaged in meaningful discussions on several important topics, including employee safety and security. We’re committed to ensuring that our employees, patients, and visitors are safe. We appreciate the thoughtful discussions we were able to have.
We remain focused on reaching an agreement that benefits you, as well as our members and patients, and allows us to provide timely access to high-quality, affordable health care.
The next bargaining session will be on Thursday, July 31, and we’ll provide you with another update after that session.
