Sean Hashmi, MD

Sean Hashmi, MD, is the adult weight management lead for Southern California Kaiser Permanente. He is a board certified Internist, Nephrologist and Obesity Medicine Specialist practicing at Kaiser Permanente, Woodland Hills, California.

Dr. Hashmi graduated from the University of California, San Diego Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA-Olive View Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Nephrology at University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Hashmi has earned several teaching awards, and routinely mentors the Woodland Hills Family Medicine Residency Program. Additionally, he is an author of several academic presentations focusing in the nutrition, obesity and kidney disease.

In recognition of his efforts, Dr. Hashmi was selected to walk alongside Kaiser Permanente's 2012 Rose Parade float, "Every Body Walk!" and the 2014 Rose Parade float "First Steps to Total Health". He was also honored as a 2013 Everyday Hero. In 2014, Dr. Hashmi received the Physician Exceptional Contribution Award for his contribution to both the Physicians, workforce and patients in Woodland Hills.

In his spare time, Dr. Hashmi enjoys several activities including working out, martial arts, blogging, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
