HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente staff and physicians in Hawaii spent Veterans Day protecting our island keiki from COVID-19. The special vaccination clinics at 6 locations across the state inoculated children between 5 and 11 years old. Today’s clinics administered the Pfizer COVID-19  pediatric vaccine.

Kaiser Permanente health care providers have administered more than 227,000 doses of adult and keiki COVID-19 vaccines to date and the organization operates multiple vaccination sites across the state.

“Many parents have been anxiously awaiting these vaccinations so they can further protect their young children from COVID-19, and now we’re one step closer to putting this pandemic behind us,” said John Yang, MD, president and medical director for the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. “Vaccination is one of the most important tools we have to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, so we urge everyone who’s eligible and has not yet been vaccinated to consider making an appointment.”
