A statement from CEO Greg A. Adams about the American Rescue Plan Act.
A Kaiser Permanente nurse receives a COVID-19 vaccination.
Millions of Americans will benefit from the enactment of the American Rescue Plan Act, which will provide immediate and aggressive action to help bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. Increased funding for COVID-19 vaccine distribution and the mobilization of 100,000 public health workers are strong steps toward addressing the historic underinvestment in our public health infrastructure, which hampered many early efforts to combat the pandemic. The act’s extension of financial help and health care coverage for people experiencing job loss is particularly important given the widespread financial hardship caused by efforts to control COVID-19.
