An update on session 5, as national Coalition bargaining continues.
This message is being sent to employees represented by the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions.
Kaiser Permanente and the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions met August 1 through 3 in Los Angeles to continue negotiations for a new national agreement. We resumed our thoughtful engagement during this fifth bargaining session, and had frank, focused conversations around our approach to sustainable growth for Kaiser Permanente while maintaining market-competitive wages and excellent benefits.
During this session, Kaiser Permanente presented a formal plan to jointly address staffing challenges and the Coalition presented its initial economic proposal.
The Coalition’s proposal calls for wage increases, larger contributions to education and training programs, and changes to the Performance Sharing Plan.
Kaiser Permanente will evaluate the Coalition’s proposal for common interests or creative solutions to consider.
Management and the Coalition are united in our shared commitment to Kaiser Permanente’s mission, while working together to address staffing issues and keep KP as a best place to work and get care.
Kaiser Permanente is determined to remain the employer of choice that we are today. We are deeply committed to the economic well-being of our employees by providing market-competitive wages and excellent benefits.
Thank you for your commitment to our patients, members, and each other.
Our next bargaining session is scheduled for August 22 through 24. You can find updates at kp.org/labor.
