Baked apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, almonds, and raisins

A sweet way to enjoy more fruit. Great with walnuts too!

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 8 large tart apples
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup slivered or sliced almonds, coarsely chopped
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 
  2. Wash then core the apples. Place them in a baking dish. 
  3. Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, almonds, and raisins together. Fill the holes in the apples with this mixture. 
  4. Top with a little dab of butter. 
  5. Bake the apples for 45- 60 minutes or until they are tender but not mushy. Serve warm or chilled.
