During a recent conference call with pediatric obesity experts at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, I learned about what sounds like a great program in Maine, “Keep Me Healthy”. Catchy for them but the abbreviation for California wouldn’t work for us.
Their program is simple to remember. “5210” is all over on posters in healthcare facilities for kids. 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, 2 hours maximum TV time, 1 hour of exercise, and 0 sugary beverages. Sounds like a good PIN to remember.
To get one of your servings of vegetables, try this appetizer. It looks so cool you will impress your friends.
The ground temperature reached 65 degrees in Fresno, so asparagus is back. This is a good variation from the usual prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.
