Large fries

These “fries” are actually baked, but they’re a satisfying substitute for the fast-food favorite.

Large fries

No, these don’t come in a little cardboard pocket. But these baked “fries” are a healthier and equally delicious option.

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 4 large unpeeled russet potatoes, cut into long fries 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 large cloves garlic, smashed then minced finely
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.
  2. Toss everything in a large bowl or right on the baking sheet, arranged in a single layer.
  3. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until crispy brown. Turn the fries over once halfway through as the part touching the baking sheet gets browned faster. Serve hot.
