Baked apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, almonds, and raisins
A sweet way to enjoy more fruit. Great with walnuts too!

Ingredients

  • 8 large tart apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup slivered or sliced almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
  2. Wash then core the apples. Place them in a baking dish.
  3. Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, almonds, and raisins together. Fill the holes in the apples with this mixture.
  4. Top with a little dab of butter.
  5. Bake the apples for 45 to 60 minutes or until they are tender but not mushy.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
