Kaiser Permanente’s Redwood City service area includes most of San Mateo County and is served by the Redwood City Medical Center.
In addition to providing affordable health care and coverage for its members and patients, Kaiser Permanente engages the communities it serves with a variety of resources, including grants to address identified health needs, donations, sponsorships to support community partner events and activities, in-kind donations, and volunteers.
The Kaiser Permanente 2020-2022 Community Health Needs Assessment report for the Redwood City Medical Center reflects Kaiser Permanente’s long-standing commitment to addressing the most urgent social needs and community conditions to improve total health for all. Kaiser Permanente provides financial support to local nonprofit health and human service organizations with an emphasis on helping underserved communities. Grant requests must address at least one of the priority health needs identified in the medical center’s latest Community Health Needs Assessment.

Each year’s competitive grant solicitation also includes specific strategies and expected outcomes that must be the focus of the application to be considered for funding.
In 2020, there will be one grant solicitation for the Redwood City service area, including North San Mateo County, which is served by the South San Francisco Medical Center. Applicants should review the San Mateo County Grant Application Guide for more information and download the 2020 Grant LOI Form for submission with the online application. Mosaic instructions for the LOI form will guide applicants through the online Mosaic portal.
