Our impact at a glance
Data shown for 2021, unless otherwise noted
We aim to improve the conditions for health and equity in our communities, increase access to care through our work across core areas, and meet members’ unmet social health needs.
Improve personal financial security and reduce economic inequities through our purchasing and vendor choices and community partnerships
Lead efforts to end homelessness and preserve and increase affordable housing by making investments that have long-term impact
Minimize our environmental impact by reducing our use of natural resources (water, energy) and doing our part to improve the conditions caused by climate change that lead to poor health
Ask our members and patients about their personal circumstances — like having a safe place to live, healthy food, social connections, and other daily essentials — and connect them to community resources
Foster healthier social and emotional environments for students, staff, and teachers through our Thriving Schools initiative
Advance local policies that improve conditions for health through our CityHealth initiative
Grow our Medicaid participation in innovative ways to support whole person care and coverage and improve the health of our members and communities
Transform Kaiser Permanente’s financial assistance programs to support coverage and care needs for our communities and patients
Our Community Health Needs Assessments process helps us understand our communities’ needs and the best ways to respond to them. The assessments inform our focus and guide our investments.
Our work is making a difference. We continually monitor the health status of our communities and track the impact of our initiatives. We use this data and our Community Health Needs Assessments to improve the effectiveness of our work.
