Cortney Eisses serves as the interim president of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado, the largest nonprofit health plan and one of the largest medical providers in the state.

Shaped by her years of experience as a registered nurse, Eisses brings a grounded, people-first leadership style to her role. She is known for her collaborative approach and deep commitment to Kaiser Permanente’s mission. Eisses focuses on supporting caregivers, strengthening operations, and ensuring that Coloradans receive the compassionate, coordinated care they deserve.

Eisses leads a team of 5,493 dedicated employees — who work alongside 1,100 physicians — to deliver high-quality, value-based care and coverage to 505,469 members across the state.

She joined Kaiser Permanente in 2003 as a staff nurse and oncology team lead. She went on to hold numerous leadership roles, including director of clinical services, National Beacon nursing lead, regional administrator, and vice president of Care Continuum. Most recently, Eisses served as vice president of Care and Utilization Management. She also served as co-chair of the Quality Continuum of Care Oversight Committee at Kaiser Permanente.

Eisses is passionate about patient-centered care and leading teams that work across the care continuum. Her goal is to strengthen connections between the care Kaiser Permanente members receive inside and outside the organization. She is dedicated to continuously developing and applying best practices to ensure that members receive the right care, at the right time, and in the right place — resulting in the best possible outcomes.

Eisses is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Executives.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Science in strategic leadership in health care organizations from the University of Denver.
