Where we are, and ways forward

Although national bargaining remains paused, we’ve made progress in local bargaining and will continue.

This message was sent to Alliance-represented employees on Friday, January 9.

Please watch this video message from Greg Holmes, chief human resources officer, as he provides the latest update about bargaining with the Alliance of Health Care Unions.

In the video, these important topics are addressed:

  • Progress in Alliance local bargaining, including reaching tentative agreements with more than half of the 53 local bargaining units
  • The incident involving UNAC/UCHP (United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals) on December 14 and why Kaiser Permanente paused national bargaining
  • Disturbing actions by UNAC/UHCP that violate the spirit of the Labor Management Partnership, including a concerning "strike survival guide" flyer and UNAC/UHCP text message with employee guidance that would risk patient safety
  • Ways we can move forward to deliver the strong wage increases, benefits enhancements, and more in our offer that our Alliance-represented employees deserve

Thank you for your attention and for considering the facts as we seek to move forward and build on the progress we have made so far in bargaining.
