Celebrating 80: Camille Cline shares why she’s a member

As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, one member describes the high-quality, personalized, supportive care she’s experienced.

Camille Cline has been with Kaiser Permanente her entire life. She’s remained a member as she’s moved to different cities for her education.

On July 21, 1945, Kaiser Permanente opened to the public, starting a legacy of care that supports the health and well-being of millions of families.

For 80 years, we’ve remained true to our mission: to provide high-quality, affordable health care and improve the health of our members and communities.

It’s a shared journey — across decades, across communities, and across lives.

Cline started her coverage with Kaiser Permanente when she was born.

Camille Cline, 24, has been a part of that journey since she was born. She’s been a Kaiser Permanente member her entire life.

Cline currently lives in Clayton, California, and is pursuing her master’s in science and public health with a focus in health policy at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

What’s kept Cline a Kaiser Permanente since birth? She explains in her own words.

Personalized care that moves with me

I went to undergrad at San Diego State University. I continued my Kaiser Permanente coverage during my time in San Diego, and it was very helpful.

I’m moving to Baltimore for grad school at Johns Hopkins University, and I’ll be able to keep my coverage there as well.

I have some ongoing health conditions, so it’s helpful having a team that knows my history. I look forward to having the same personalized care in Baltimore.

Cline has kept her coverage through college and has recommended it to her peers.

Kaiser Permanente feels like a community. Doctors take the time to listen and validate my health concerns.

I have a busy life. My doctors have been supportive of making appointments that don’t interfere with things I already have going on. At the same time, they’ve been attentive to each issue, making sure I receive timely and thoughtful care.

They work together with me to create the best plan for my health. That collaboration adds a personal touch that stands out to me.

Care teams that go the extra mile

I’ve had gastrointestinal issues for the past 7 years. It progressed more in college.

I’ve had several tests to figure out what’s wrong. My team at Kaiser Permanente coordinated everything well with my blood work and imaging scopes.

They took me through each step, explained the results, and adjusted my medications carefully. All the doctors were caring and wanted what was best for me.

My health care journey has sometimes been hard. Now, I’m considering if surgery is right for me. But my doctors are always pointing me in the right direction.

They got me to where I am now, which is healthy!

Mission-driven, member-focused

I feel like Kaiser Permanente holds true to its mission of providing high-quality and affordable care.

That’s been the most memorable aspect for me. The doctors care. They listen. They try to work with me and my transitions throughout life.

I’ve had a positive, coordinated experience with Kaiser Permanente.

For generations, Kaiser Permanente has led the way in delivering care that puts people first.

We’ve pioneered preventive care, closed health gaps, and embraced technology to improve care and outcomes.

That kind of innovation continues today and fuels our mission to bring health to many generations to come.
