Kaiser Permanente’s mission is to provide high-quality, affordable health care and improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. One way we deliver on our mission is to partner with local community organizations whose missions are aligned with ours.
We prioritize funding for programs and partnerships aligned with our 2022 community health needs assessment, implementation strategy, and Kaiser Permanente initiatives, which support our brand and mission.
Requests are evaluated for their ability to improve equity in the following areas:
Kaiser Permanente will consider funding requests from non-profit organizations (501 (c)(3)) or equivalent. Equivalent organizations may include tribes, public schools, universities, and local, state or federal government agencies and programs. The indirect rate for public schools, universities, local, state or federal government agencies and programs, and research institutions is restricted to 15%.
To be eligible, an applicant organization must have operations in the Washington region of Kaiser Permanente (eligible counties include: King, Kitsap, Pierce, Snohomish, Spokane and Thurston).
We are unable to support the following types of activities:
Grant applications are solicited either by invitation or through periodic requests for proposals from community organizations whose work aligns with our community health programming and what have been determined to be the high-priority health needs in the communities we serve. Check this website for future announcements.
Kaiser Permanente provides limited sponsorships for activities such as marathons, walks, fundraising galas, luncheons, breakfasts, and similar events. Sponsorships are available by invitation. For information, email communityhealth.wa@kp.org.
