The Northwest Region of the United States is a land of considerable geographic, social, economic, and human vitality and beauty. The origins of Kaiser Permanente’s presence in this region began when we established a health care system to serve workers at the Kaiser shipyards in Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon during World War II. Since that time, our presence in the region has expanded to serve the health needs of communities throughout Oregon and southwest Washington state.
Kaiser Permanente’s community health efforts in the Northwest Region are working to make real and lasting change for the people who live, learn, work, and play here. Each year we partner with more than 150 local community organizations who, like us, are deeply embedded in the mission of community health. We take pride in these collaborations and the opportunity to help build greater health capacity and sustainability in the region. We also take great pride in our regional Kaiser Permanente employees, physicians and dentists, who help improve our communities through their involvement and volunteerism.
