Institutional and planned giving

Donations are often given in remembrance of a loved one or in recognition of care provided by a team of health professionals. It is Kaiser Foundation Hospitals policy to not appeal to Kaiser Permanente members or to the public for contributions. Only unsolicited contributions to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals will be graciously accepted and acknowledged.

The Institutional and Planned Giving Program facilitates donations made to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, a nonprofit, public health organization exempt under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).

Donations to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals are used to directly enhance non-benefit patient programs and services, including but not limited to:

  • Birthday or holiday gifts for hospitalized pediatric patients
  • Stress relief toys and games for pediatric patients
  • Transportation assistance for patients needing to travel long distance for treatment
  • Books, smart devices, and snacks for patients receiving chemotherapy
  • Support for hospice patients such as groceries and comfort items
  • Bereavement support for families

For more information, please see our brochure. Information regarding estate planning is also available.
