Jim Simpson

Jim Simpson is regional president of Kaiser Permanente Georgia. In this role, he leads the state’s largest nonprofit health plan, providing high-quality affordable health care to more than members in that state.

Recently, he was senior vice president of finance for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. During his 20 years with Kaiser Permanente, Simpson has served in a number of areas, including finance, operations, accounting, regulatory and information technology.

Simpson previously served for five years as vice president and controller for the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region. In that capacity, he was responsible for KFHP/H regional accounting and financial reporting functions. In addition, he had statewide responsibility for property/construction accounting and enterprise-wide responsibility for Capital Assets Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Simpson worked in both the audit practice and consulting group of Deloitte & Touche, LLC, as well as for the Federal Deposit Insurance Co.

Simpson is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and currently has family in that area. He obtained his master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Texas and bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting from Southern Methodist University.

He is married with two children.
