NUHW leadership encourages ‘no’ vote

The majority of our therapists are coming to work.

It is unfortunate that National Union of Healthcare Workers leadership pressed members for a ‘no’ vote, with assurances they would get more from continued contract bargaining.

The ‘more’ that union leaders have identified will reduce access to mental health care for our members, and Kaiser Permanente has been clear we are not willing to do that. While the result of the union members’ vote is that NUHW’s labor strike continues, we are pleased that nearly 60% of our therapists have chosen to come to work for their patients.

We remain committed to reaching an agreement that ensures access to mental health services while balancing the needs of our employees.
