1M mammograms to catch breast cancer early

Kaiser Permanente performed 1,044,242 mammograms in 2018, according to the 2019 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, or HEDIS®.

We are a national leader in breast cancer screening, with rates in the top 5% nationwide.

Mammograms are X-rays of the breast used to screen for cancer. They can detect tumors that are too small to feel. This allows doctors to catch some breast cancers early, when they may be more easily treated.

Our 360-degree approach to cancer care includes earlier detection and a broad range of treatment options. Kaiser Permanente’s teams of experts collaborate seamlessly across departments and specialties to coordinate care for faster diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
