2,300 participants in virtual cardiac rehabilitation program

A program combining wearable technology and virtual coaching significantly improves outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease.

For cardiovascular patients, lifestyle changes can make all the difference when it comes to secondary cardiac events and rehospitalization.

Rehabilitation programs that encourage more physical activity and better nutrition are widely available. Few patients enroll, however, and even fewer complete them.

To make it easier to participate, Kaiser Permanente collaborated with Samsung to design a virtual program that fits seamlessly into patients’ lives. Combining wearable technology with a personalized regimen created by their care team, participants receive regular reminders and feedback on their progress. After completing the regimen, they receive wellness coaching to assist them in their continuing journey toward health.
