Kaiser Permanente received the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ inaugural Health Equity Award, which recognizes our commitment to reducing and eliminating disparities in health care quality and access for our members receiving Medicare benefits.

For example, from 2009 to 2017, the percentage of our African-American Medicare members who could control their hypertension increased from 75.3 percent to 89.6 percent, a huge increase that has saved the lives of thousands of people.

We are an industry leader in developing and implementing best practices, innovative approaches and evidence-based medicine aimed at improving health equity outcomes.
