Trick-or-treat, may I have a healthy snack to eat?
As soon as the calendar rolls into October, store shelves are stocked with boundless supplies of candy and other sugary treats. While you’re at the store, consider picking up some delicious fruits to make healthier (and festive!) snacks with your family and friends. Here are a few ideas. We’re sure there are more! Grape monster
Permanent marker
Clear compostable or reusable cups
Grapes
Banana ghost
Plates
Bananas
Plastic knife
Small chocolate chips
Tangerine pumpkin
Tangerines
Plastic knife
Celery
Directions
Grape monster
Use a permanent marker to draw a monster face on your clear cup.
Wash grapes thoroughly.
Place grapes into your decorated cup.
Banana ghost
Peel banana.
Cut banana in half and stand each half up on a plate.
Stick the pointy end of chocolate chips into the banana, to make ghost eyes and a mouth.
Tangerine pumpkin
Peel tangerine (or, only peel the very top!).
Cut celery to make a stem.
Insert celery into top of tangerine to make a pumpkin.
