Statement on House passage of the American Health Care Act

Any changes to our nation’s health care laws should maintain or increase the availability of high-quality, affordable care for as many people as possible, which is something that Kaiser Permanente has stood for all along. We need to make sure people with existing health care needs and people who need help paying for coverage have access to health coverage that allows them access to care.

The bill passed today does not do enough to expand coverage, protect people in need of care, and provide enough assistance to those who need help in paying for care and coverage.

We will continue to work with policymakers in Congress and with the Administration to address these concerns as the discussion moves to the Senate.
