Higuchi to oversee grant administration at Kaiser Permanente Center for Integrated Health Care Research.
HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente is pleased to announce the promotion of Kathleen Higuchi to director of research administration. As part of the Center for Integrated Health Care Research leadership team, Higuchi will help shape the development of the Hawaii region’s vision for cutting-edge research that allows Kaiser Permanente members to live their healthiest lives.
In her new role, Higuchi will develop and oversee strategic objectives, processes and procedures to streamline research and grant administration activities. She will also ensure that research activities are compliant with funding agencies’ state, federal, statutory and regulatory standards. She currently serves as chair of the Kaiser Permanente National Research Administrators Council and is the acting research conflict of interest officer for the Hawaii region.

Higuchi’s tenure at the Center for Integrated Health Care Research spans two decades in grant management and research roles. She received her undergraduate degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended Mid-Pacific Institute on Oahu.
