2 new medical offices coming to Northern Virginia

New locations in Stafford, Va., and Prince Williams County, Va., will accommodate Kaiser Permanente’s growing membership in the region.

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States is announcing plans for two new state-of-the-art medical office buildings in Northern Virginia. These medical centers —in Stafford and Prince William County — will enable Kaiser Permanente to support the growing demand for its award-winning health care and health coverage.

New building in Stafford

Located on the Stafford Hospital campus in Stafford, Virginia, the 38,375 square-foot Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building will provide primary care and rotating specialty care. Members will also be able to receive behavioral health, optometry, urgent care, pharmacy, physical therapy, laboratory and imaging services on site.

The facility is scheduled to open in summer 2019 to provide best-in-class health care to members in the area.

New building in Haymarket

Located with convenient access to I-66 in Prince William County, Virginia, the 36,423 square-foot medical office building will offer adult primary care, ob-gyn, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, optometry and behavioral health services. This medical office building will also provide imaging services, such as general radiology, mammography and bone density scanning.

This medical office is expected to open in late 2019 and will offer members innovative health services in a convenient location.

“We at Kaiser Permanente are thrilled that more and more families, businesses and individuals in Northern Virginia are embracing Kaiser Permanente’s superior health care and health coverage,” said Kim Horn, president of Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States. “These two new locations will make it easy for members to take care of a wide range of health care needs under one roof, without having to travel to multiple locations.”

“Our patients in Virginia are benefiting from the world-class care provided by nearly 1,500 physicians in the region,” said Bernadette Loftus, MD, associate executive director who oversees The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, which provides care for Kaiser Permanente members in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. “Not only is our medical group the largest medical group in the Mid-Atlantic, but we have also achieved the highest ranked clinical quality in the entire nation. Our physicians are dedicated to ensuring our patients in Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland are the healthiest they can be.”

This is the latest in a series of new facility announcements by Kaiser Permanente in Northern Virginia.

Last year, the organization announced the new 40,000-square-foot Alexandria Medical Office at The Exchange in the Potomac Yard area of Alexandria, Virginia. This will be the first Kaiser Permanente medical office building in Alexandria and will offer primary care, imaging, laboratory, pharmacy services, optometry and optical sales. This facility is scheduled to open in spring 2019.

The organization also recently announced its plan to double the size of its Ashburn Medical Center in Ashburn, Virginia. With construction slated to begin in 2019, the larger Ashburn Medical Center will provide increased primary care and behavioral health services, as well as optometry, an optical shop, and imaging with mammography, bone density testing and ultrasound.
