PORTLAND, Ore. — Medicare-eligible residents in Lane County will soon have access to Kaiser Permanente’s unique blend of high-quality, affordable health care combined with award-winning health plan coverage. Kaiser Permanente is proud to announce it will begin offering a Medicare health plan in Lane County, with enrollment starting October 15. Coverage will be effective January 1, 2021.

“We are pleased to offer Lane County residents our top-rated Medicare Advantage health plan,” said Keith Forrester, vice president of Kaiser Permanente sales, marketing, and business development. “Part of Kaiser Permanente’s mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve, and we are excited to be offering our integrated model of care to seniors in this community.”

Kaiser Permanente members in Lane County will have access to the full range of health care benefits plus services at Kaiser Permanente Chase Gardens Medical Office, at 360 S. Garden Way in Eugene. In addition to the Kaiser Permanente team, our comprehensive network of contracted specialists also gives Medicare members access to more than 700 trusted Lane County providers — such as PeaceHealth, Pacific Women’s Center, Willamette Valley Cancer Institute, and Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. (Some specialty care services are accessed through referral and prior authorization. Our partnership with PeaceHealth includes the Santa Clara, RiverBend Pavilion, Cottage Grove, and Florence locations. Not all providers at these locations are part of our network.)

Kaiser Permanente’s Medicare health plan offers comprehensive medical services and benefits beyond Original Medicare benefits, including Part D prescription drug coverage.

“We know our Medicare-eligible members and residents in Lane County have been eager to start enrolling in the Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage plan and we are making it easy for them to sign up,” said Sheila Jhansale, MD, physician in charge at Kaiser Permanente Chase Gardens Medical Office.

Kaiser Permanente recently opened its Chase Gardens Medical Office, offering primary care including family medicine, internal medicine, and behavioral health support. Members also have access to a new nurse treatment area, new imaging services, an onsite pharmacy, and additional on-site lab services.

“We first started providing care here in 2016 and we are so happy to now offer care to the Lane County senior community,” Dr. Jhansale said.
