Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has hired Chef Dan Saito to oversee all aspects of inpatient, cafeteria and catering operations at Moanalua Medical Center.
HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has hired Chef Dan Saito to oversee all aspects of inpatient, cafeteria and catering operations at Moanalua Medical Center.
Chef Saito graduated from La Serre Culinary Academy in Paris, France, and went on to work under world-renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck, Julian Serrano and Jeremiah Tower. He honed his career at some of the top resorts and golf clubs in the U.S. including The Manele Bay Hotel, The Dunes of Maui Lani Country Club, the Hilton DoubleTree Golf Resort in Palm Springs and Warner Springs Ranch Resort and Golf Club in California. Most notably he led the Manele Bay Hotel culinary team to be recognized as the top resort, best dining facility, and “Best Golf Resort in North America” by Condé Nast Traveler.

Dan’s skills and expertise will be invaluable in helping us provide the tasty and nourishing meals essential for the healing process. In addition, his vision is to design and create healthy Kaiser Permanente signature menu options for staff and visitors.”
Chef Saito has been recognized in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Gourmet Magazine and Wine Spectator. As an Eagle Scout, he continues to serve the Boy Scouts of America as a volunteer consultant, providing food and beverage direction and expertise.
