New vice president of public relations in Hawaii

HONOLULU Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced today David Tumilowicz has been promoted to vice president of Public Relations, Communications and Brand Management. In his new role, Tumilowicz will be responsible for regional brand and business line advertising and marketing communications; member, employee and executive communication; public relations, social media and events; and he will oversee market research in Hawaii.

Tumilowicz joined Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in 2013. He has held senior positions in Marketing, Sales and Business Development. In his most recent role, Tumilowicz served as director of Account Management, with responsibility for commercial groups and member retention.

“David has been successful at every stop throughout his impressive career, and his significant contributions to Kaiser Permanente Hawaii have helped us to become a trusted health care provider to more than a quarter million members in Hawaii,” said Chris Hause, vice president Marketing, Sales and Business Development Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. “We are excited that he has accepted this new role to ensure we are engaging with our members, employers and key stakeholders and that we continue to be a strong advocate for health care in Hawaii.”

Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Tumilowicz was publisher of Hawaii Business and Hawaii magazines, and vice president at PacificBasin Communications, Hawaii’s largest magazine publishing company. While at PacificBasin, he helped launch the Wahine Forum, Hawaii’s largest conference for businesswomen and community leaders. Tumilowicz earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Pennsylvania State University, and a master’s degree in sociology from Rutgers University.
