New director of member, marketing communications in Hawaii

HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced today that Cynthia Moore has been named director of Member and Marketing Communications. In this position, Moore will plan, develop, direct and implement member communications, marketing communications, advertising and branding activities in Hawaii. She will also be collaborating with staff throughout the region and nationally on key communications programs and strategies.

Moore joins Kaiser Permanente Hawaii after three years as market manager for vision insurance provider VSP Global. Before working at VSP, Moore spent three years as a program director for the California Association of Hospitals & Health Systems. Earlier in her career, Moore held numerous corporate marketing and communications positions and worked at leading public relations agencies.

“Cynthia will play a key role in strengthening our relationships with members and raising our visibility in the community,” said David Tumilowicz, vice president for Public Relations, Communications and Brand Management at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. “We are thrilled to have someone of Cynthia’s caliber join our team as she will bring national and global health care experience to the role.”

Before relocating to Hawaii to join Kaiser Permanente, Moore was active in the Sacramento, California area where she lived and worked. She is a past chair of the advisory council for the Sacramento regional chapter of California Women Lead and a member of Capitol Network. She also served as vice chair of the Transportation Commission for the city of Roseville and on the executive committee of the American Heart Association’s Go Red Movement. Moore earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Humboldt, and a master’s degree in business administration from Golden Gate University.
