Bakersfield City Council declaring Kaiser Permanente Kern County Day
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield City Council proclaims Jan. 18, 2018 as Kaiser Permanente Kern County Day at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 5:15 p.m.
On Jan. 18, 1988, Kaiser Permanente Kern County started with 4,000 members and a small team of visionaries willing to take a chance on a new way of caring for our community. In 1988, we saw our first members in on our only medical office building on San Dimas Street.
Today, we are nearly 1,100 employees and physicians strong with over 107,000 members. We now operate out of 10 medical office buildings, two administrative buildings, our Mobile Health Vehicle and our Vision Essentials by Kaiser Permanente storefront at the Marketplace.
We’ve built an incredible legacy with our leadership and innovative approach to health care in Kern County, serving as a model for the rest of the industry. We have helped people thrive and take control of their health, while setting the standard for high-quality, affordable health care.
