Health plans receive pharmacy quality alliance recognition for ninth consecutive year.
For the ninth year in a row, Kaiser Permanente has earned the Pharmacy Quality Alliance’s Excellence in Quality Award for high achievement in medication safety and appropriate use.
Kaiser Permanente’s Medicare plans in California, Hawaii, the Mid-Atlantic States and the Northwest were honored with the Excellence in Quality Award at PQA’s annual meeting on May 16.
"Medication safety and effectiveness are central to our mission to provide high-quality, affordable care to our members," said Amy Gutierrez, PharmD, senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer for Kaiser Permanente. "Receiving this honor for the ninth year in a row is evidence of the power and promise of our integrated care delivery model."
Since 2011, Kaiser Permanente health plans honored by the PQA include California (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019), Colorado (2011, 2014), Hawaii (2011, 2014, 2018, 2019), Northwest (2012, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019) and Mid-Atlantic States (2014, 2017, 2019).
